The creative heartbeat of our community - a morning of art, inspiration, and connection

Nestled in the cozy embrace of René Scribante's Loft Studio, our monthly get together called, Coffee with Local Artists, is always a space where you can immerse yourself in the world of local art while enjoying the warmth of good company and a freshly brewed cup of coffee.

As you ascend the stairs and enter our studio space, you're greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly ground coffee and the buzz of creative energy that permeates the air. Here, a group of friends and fellow artists take a seat amidst the tranquil surroundings, where colorful canvases adorn the walls and the tools of creation lie scattered about, inviting you to explore and discover.

We love to engage in stimulating conversations while each working on our individual pieces. Whether it be painting , sculpting, mixed media or photography, each one brings their own unique vision and perspective to the table, enriching our community with their creativity and passion. It’s all about sharing stories, exchanging ideas, and reveling in the magic of artistic expression as we come together to celebrate the beauty of our shared passion.

A chance to forge connections, foster creativity, and celebrate the rich tapestry of talent that surrounds us.

Friends & I exhibition

Coffee with Local Artists was the catalyst for the Friends & I exhibition held earlier in 2024 at Cape Town’s popular Spin Street Gallery.

Our shared love of art wove our paths together over time, and we are better for it. Our purpose and sense of belonging stems from the unity we have as friends - we do life together, in a colourful and authentic way. We believe that inspiration (and fun) is exponentially improved when we work in the company of others (with good coffee in hand). The definition of ‘colour’ is the light reflected by an object. We feel defined and valued by how we reflect one another.

This is us, this is our art, and this is our journey to belonging, through colour.
